Basic Maintenance and Safety Guide

Here are some quick, basic checks we recommend you carry out on a weekly basis to maintain and care for your vehicle - and to keep repair costs down.

Check….

• and top up all fluid levels (engine oil, power steering, coolant, brake fluid and screen washer)
• windscreen for any chips or cracks
• screen washer jets are clean and working well
• tyre pressures against recommendations in your vehicle handbook
• that tyres are wearing evenly and have a minimum tread depth of 1.6mm in a continuous band throughout the central 3/4 of the tread width, and over the whole circumference of the tyre.
• brakes work well
• that the vehicle lights are all in working order and clean them (it’s worth carrying a set of spare bulbs at all times)

In addition, washing and regularly polishing your vehicle will maintain its finish, appearance and value!!

Safety

Take great care when working on any vehicle - they are dangerous things!
When working under the bonnet the engine-cooling fan may cut in at any moment so do not wear loose jewelery and roll up your sleeves as a precaution.
